Hey guys, so I installed the latest firmware of the router, and it appears to work fine. I will give you this link so you can download the latest version of firmware.
Please follow the instruccions on page, since there are many versions of the router, and each one have its own firmware.

I will keep you posted as if the version worked fine.

I am using TL-WR740N_V4_130529 but it does not work ok, when the WIFI gets lots of activity it crashes. Any suggestions?

Well you got to turn off all the automatic configuration in the router setup, i m using TL-WR740N_V4_130329 and its working fine after i switched off all the automatic settings in the router , u can give it a shot i will attach the screens.

All said and done! Nothing helped me so far, I managed to find the root cause!

Root case is andriod mobile that wife uses, when she comes online wifi goes off! It does not happen every time! But when ever it happens it's right after we use andriod mobile! ! I could reproduce issue many times

And when I did search around it looks like it's known issues in andriod and happens to many routers

Anyways can you guys test on that lines and validate it's andriod case, without andriod my wifi never went off

I got the same issue but It happens after I use Blackberry (Z10), I can reproduce issue many times and had shown to customer support of warranty center TP-Link in Vietnam. I think TP link does't fix it yet, you should use WEP security instead WPA or other.

After a long wait and watch, I could manage to keep my router up and running for close to a month without any issues. Issue was clearly form andriod side. Now keeping the phone away made my router live long..cant get better then this

Just registered my new account to reply what is working for me, thank you for all the suggestions.

So, I have installed openwrt and stil have issue with wpa2, but if you set it to open network and use mac filtering, it works. The router has been up for me for a couple of days, I previously have disconnection problem with my android phones.
If you guys want to try it, here is the instructions, please note that this may voidyour warranty, I would throw away my router anyway if I cant use wifi network.

1. Download the souce from: here.
2. Follow the step in easy oem installation: here. It is recommended to reset your router beforehand.
3. Open windows cmd or mac/linux terminal, telnet to 192.168.1.1. Type passwd and change the password.
4. Access the GUI interface by pointing your browser to 192.168.1.1, do a back up as instructed here
5. You can now start config your router.
