Model: TL-WN725N
Hardware Version: V3
Firmware Version:

I recently TL-WN725N wifi adapter for my desktop running in windows 7. It recognizes the wifi network with it is transmitting in IEEE 802.11g.

But does not recognize when my wifi router is transmitting in IEEE 802.11n. The product does say it supports IEEE 802.11n.

I downloaded the drivers from tplink website for V3 and installed.

@Kathy_Z

It's the same version of driver that I have already installed.

What I mean is when the wifi router is transmitting under 802.11g then the adapter picks up the wifi network and I am able to connect to it. But when wifi router is set to transmit under 802.11n then the wifi network does not even show up for me to connect to it.

The same happens when I set my router to transmit under 40 mhz.  The adapter only works when the router is transmitting under 20 mhz.

@Kathy_Z

Thanks for taking the time in responding to me.

  1. What Is the model number of your home router?

Device Name - G-2425G-A

Vendor - Nokia

Serial Number - ALCLB3AF863B

  1. Could you please help me check the system info and driver info on the computer https://static.tp-link.com/2018/201808/20180820/TL-WN725N(EUUSES)_V3_180807_Win.zip This is the version i downloaded and insalled.

  1. Have you tried to modify the wireless channel to be channel 11 when it is on the 802.11n mode?

Unfortunately, i can not. the router is provided by my internet service provider and the channel setting is disabled and is set to Auto.
