@Kevin_Z

This beta version worked perfectly. Thank you.

Similar problem for me, with Archer A7 v5.0

Previous firmware worked as expected using FTP (public or password). Upgraded to latest firmware and the whole USB authentication system failed. Rolled back to previous and all ok again.

What I find strange is that none of the fixes in the latest firmware release notes would appear to be related to the USB, unless it falls under "enhance device security".

Cheers.

@SirFin

Hello, sorry about any issue caused with the latest official firmware. We have provided a beta firmware for this issue you encountered, you may leave with the previous official firmware or upgrade to the latest beta firmware as a workaround.

Thanks a lot.

Thanks Kevin.

Out of interest, roughly how long will it be before the beta becomes a mainstream release?

@SirFin

This fix should be included in the next official version, while we cannot provide you an ETA, we hope you could patiently wait, thanks.

Tried the beta, but during install it comes up with "invalid file type".

Is the beta only for the Archer C7? I have the A7.

@SirFin

Nope, the firmware for the C7 is not allowed to be uploaded into the A7, you may try this one:

Sorry Kevin,

that link doesn't work. Compared to the earlier C7 link it appears that there may be some text missing before the beta.zip bit.

Cheers
