Region : Netherlands

Model : TL-WDR4300

Firmware Version : TL-WDR4300_V1_121225

ISP : Ziggo

Set up the WDR4300 with a USB drive connected (Platinum MyDrive CP 500 GB USB 3.0).

Enabled the Media server, shared the entire drive, stuck an test .avi on there.

My laptop has no trouble playing it from the attached storage, my Xbox sees the folders and files, recognizes them as playable formats but then does nothing once I hit play to get the file going.

If I copy the exact same file to the shared folders on my laptop, navigate from the Xbox to that location it streams within the second.

Also tried the same thing with a 16 Gb USB thumbdrive, same result.

Any suggestions/hints?

I think you need to set up the port forwarding for your Xbox on the router.

Any updates on this, I'm facing the same problem with wdr4300 and xbox.

My Xbox see's the Videos but it's unable to play any of files (Movies, MP3 or Jpeg)

I've Forwarded all my Ports from 1 to 65500 to Xbox

Hi,

I am also experiencing the same problem. Is there any fix for this? I want to play my media content from my external hard drive so that I do not have to turn on my PC each time I stream these files to my Xbox 360.

Hi,

Is there any update on the above problem? I am also experiencing the same thing. Is there a possible fix for this? I would want to play my media files from my external hard drive to my xbox 360 rather than turning on my PC just to stream these files.

The same crappy code is used to manage the USB ports on all the TP-Link routers, specially the DLNA media server is a big shit.
It also has the problem with the samsung TV
