I think that they will not update... Why bother fixing the bug's if they get more money by launching a new router model with same hardware and different case only? 1st and only tp-link that i will ever buy. my 1043ND is bugged as your jorge. =(

I have two WR1043ND.
I installed in one, gargoyle firmware 1.5.9 and works perfectly so far (10 days), never been hung.
At the other,i have tried several officers firmware and beta
None works fine, crashes every day.

I have several TL-WR1043NDs, and a client who purchased one at my recommendation. All have been re-flashed to run dd-wrt r20675, and are rock-stable. You may want to consider trying switching firmware as well.

In my case, my routers were crashing often enough that I was considering replacing them with another brand. I then re-flashed to dd-wrt, except I used the "official" WR1043 release of r14896. That, too, was not stable and the routers continued crashing. I then found a "work-in-progress" release called r20675, and like magic my WR1043s became dependable and reliable. Except, that is, for one circumstance: dd-wrt allows you to set your WR1043 into "client mode." This is where it tries to connect to another Access Point, just like your laptop, smart phone, or tablet computer. Where I live, the landlord allows us to connect to her AP as a kind of "fringe benefit" for leasing at her apartment complex. Well, I have one TL-WR1043ND equipped with 10dBi antennas in my kitchen, operating in Client Mode, and it's going through drywall, concrete, stainless steel, and glass, from the 2nd Floor to the 1st Floor, to connect with her junky little single-antenna wireless router. And in spite of the obstacles, my 1043 is pulling in a 30% signal strength, allowing a transfer speed of 24Mb/s!

The WR1043's hardware isn't all that bad. The PC board's layout is clean and invites experimentation / modification. In fact, I'm getting ready to modify one of my TL-WR1043NDs to use LMR-400 coax to route from the internal radios to some N-female connectors in conjunction with TP-Link's 15dbi outdoor WLAN antennas as an experiment to see how far I can extend its coverage range.

If you choose to re-flash your WR1043 with dd-wrt, please be aware that TP-Link's OEM firmware disables the WAN port during booting in order to stop DHCP/BOOTP requests from devices plugged into the LAN ports from "leaking" out the WAN that your ISP should never see. Re-flashing to dd-wrt does NOT, repeat, does NOT replace the bootloader, and therefore the WAN port remains permanently disabled. If you need/want your WAN port, you'll first need to downgrade your OEM firmware to an earlier version before re-flashing with dd-wrt.

There is only one issue with dd-wrt r20675 that I've found: When operating in Client Mode, it is very easy to crash the firmware with malformed packets. It happens enough that I've downloaded the source code to r20675 and am spending the time to debug it myself. Any debugs I find will be submitted to dd-wrt for them to include in that release.

The first prepares your 1043 to receive the dd-wrt, and the second is the actual r20675 firmware itself.

Now, some disclaimers and caveats: Understand that if you do choose to re-flash your TL-WR1043ND with ANYTHING other than TP-Link-supplied firmware, you are voiding your warranty. If you screw up or just choose not to follow dd-wrt's re-flashing procedure, you could "brick" your router. In that case, don't expect support in this forum, because TP-Link is not obligated to supply it. Especially if this is your first time re-flashing a router with non-OEM firmware, PLEASE take the time to go through their website to read the instructions and UNDERSTAND WHAT YOU ARE DOING, in particular their "30/30/30 reset" procedure. If you follow their procedure, you should have no problems.

If this is your first exposure to "community firmware," you'll find it's somewhat overwhelming in configuring your re-flashed router because so much additional functionality is included. The claim that dd-wrt, like other community projects, "makes your $50 router act like a $500 router," is no idle brag. You'll be amazed how many new ways you can use your TL-WR1043ND. You can easily spend an entire weekend just familiarizing yourself with all of its features.

Anyway, I hope this helps. The TL-WR1043ND really is a nice device.

More than hardware problems, I think it's a hardware incompatibility with the firmware.
