The adapter only works in safe. It only finds the networks in safe mode, when I'm back in the normal mode it doesn't find any. I am using Windows Vista 32-bit. Internet service provider. All help is appreciated!

You have to check your motherboard model.

Do I need to physically open up my PC and find it or is there a software I can use?

Getting the 4800 to work with Win7
2013-03-16 23:11:15
Hi
I have just bought the WDN4800 and had major problems getting it to work with my Win7 64bit machine.
Eventually, I found the answer (Kindly provided by Sharon in this forum). Uninstall the drivers you have put in from the mini disc then turn off your machine (you can leave the card in situ).
Start your machine again. Just as windows is starting, press f8. This will start the machine in a basic mode. When the text window opens, use your keyboard down arrow and select 'safe mode', press enter. When windows is loaded, place the driver disc in the machine and load the drivers.
When complete, restart you machine. You should find that all is now working and you can select the router you want and connect as normal. Don't forget to tick the 'Connect Automatically' box before making the final connection to your network.
Hope that helps.
