Model: Deco M5
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version: 1.5.1 Build 20201022 Rel 66804

I have two Deco M5 units (one as main unit and the other as satellite) that worked fine until yesterday when the speed dropped significantly from 400 Mbps to 72 Mbps. The firmware was updated to 1.5.1 and it did not resolve the problem. I am frustrated as I have mutliple devices that require high speed internet. Is there way I can go back to the previous version of the firm ware or any other solution?

Also, I tried one solution of making the primary DNS 8.8.8.8 as was suggested in one of the threads that I saw in this forum but that did not help

@TP_, @TpDeco.

@RJanardh Does the speed from connecting to the base unit work better than the satellite?  And is the wired speed still ~400mbps?  Lastly did you try to re-run the QOS speed test and reset the maximums? The U/D speed in the QOS screen is an effective cap on all devices.

@jeffm_614, the wired speed is still 400 Mbps (sometimes goes to 500mbps as that is the speed my ISP provides). The QOS test also shows this speed, but my devices are connected to wifi and the speed test on my devices show only 72 mbps download speed. Something wrong with both the main and satellite units.

From reading the other posts about M5 performance (I am having an issue, but it's not quite what you are describing) the one thing that helps with unexpected drops in Wi-Fi performance is a factory reset of the system. 72mbps is the slowest negotiated speed for AC wifi, so its almost like the units are 'stuck' in slow mode and wont return to faster speeds automatically as they should, except for a hard reset.
