Hi,

i discovered a speed issue with cable with my router TL-WR1043ND. i have no more than 11 MB/s from computer to NAS... so like all transfer speed was setup like a 100Mbps adapter...
my card on my computer is in auto negotiation. If i set it manually to 1Gbps no link is active between router and computer....
i tried it with my laptop and once again the same issue.

any idea where is the problem ?

thx

Do you have some information about link speed on your NAS? Maybe in status? Can you check cable condition. Is it original patch cord?

the nas specs are: RJ-45x2 : 10/100/1000 BASE-TX Auto MDI/MDI-X
based on ubuntu 10.04LTS with Intel® Atom™ Processor D525 and 1GBRAM DDR2
link speed status iw written as 1000Mbps in web gui of my NAS (thecus N4200ECO)

i tested several cables from commerce, i also used cables i made and made a new one just for test right now in cat5e..
still the same result.

reading post on internet i also discovered that several people flash firmaware to openwrt or dd-wrt..
i already did it in the past with my old linksys router, but because it brought something more than official firmware... i don't want to just on that solution for my tl-wr1043nd router if it's not needed.

any idea ?

I don't have any more ideas. Maybe default settings on WR1043ND?

I found a new version of network card (not wifi) on INTEL web site. even if i update the driver and connect with cable the computer to router, it improved speed (jPerf) from 35 Mbps to 50.5 Mbps.
But it still TOO FAR from GIGA LAN as TP-LINK says for such router.

after getting help from a friend, i changed my cat5e cable wiring to a different wiring ( http://www.zytrax.com/images/cat5_color.gif). I used the B version and now cabled connection goes to 789 Mbps. so adapter, NAS and router are ok for cabled connection and giga lan.

so we can close this topic
