What is the speed that your ISP gives you? This 150Mbps is only between your devices and your router. Beyond that, your ISP and current internet conditions set the limit on what throughput you get.

About the connection speed, you should get inSSIDer and see if your router is using an uncongested channel.

i m also talkin about the connection speed between the router n my laptop , i have a internet plan of 20 Mbps , its alrite i checked by using speedtest.net , the connection speed between the router n laptop is not 150Mbps as the router is 150Mbps the wireless card on the laptop is broadcom 80211n which is pretty much capable of handling 150Mbps , but the connection speed is only 72Mbps, with my previous netgear router it was 54Mbps as advertised on the box of the router. the only reason for buyin this peice of crap was to get 150Mbps connecton speed between router and laptop ,

i used inSSider n i m using 20Mhz 2,4Ghz band n channel 6 which is not overlapping any of my neighbours, so i m baffled n i m pissed also , can someone from tp-link support guys answer this please.

Gargoyle of course ;) or DD-WRT in WR740 is good too.

How is model of your wireless card? Maybe here is some problem. Give us screenshot from inSSIDer scan.

havent tried gargoyle yet , is it user friendly or like openwrt ??

here r the screenshots

and for some reason txrate setting cannot be increased abovr 18dBm 63mW

i guess tp-link set a offset in the chip on the hardware level so that ppl cannot increase it to 20Bm

The real speed in this protocol (802.11n little) is about 50-70 Mbps. You don't forget about security protocol and another information in this transfer.

well yes i kinda figured it out as not all of the 802.11n devices are fully complaint to the standard , they support some bits of it and advertise falsely to the consumer of the capabilities of the router
