Hi to all, I just got a TP-LINK WA730RE Range Extender but I can't connect to its interface. I can't use the CD wizard because Iam on a Linux distribution (UBUNTU 12.04)
Any help would be apreciated, thanx a lot

I not quite familiar with Linux. But you can connect the range extender to the computer with a cable, and set a static IP like 192.168.1.10 ans subnet mask 255.255.255.0 on the LAN connection on your computer and try to login to the range extender,

Here is a link on how to set up the static IP on Linux Ubuntuhttp://www.wikihow.com/Assign-an-IP-Address-on-a-Linux-Computer. But the IP address for computer should 192.168.1.x（ X for 2-250), subnet :255.255.255.0, other things can be blank.

@blades Well, I have different OS varieties and have the same cannot connect via Linux problem.

I used my phone to configure the TP link and can connect to it easily using a Windows 10 laptop.

However, when I try either of two different Linux versions, (Mint and another) both recognize the range extender, both ask for a password, but neither one can establish a connection to it. All of the machines reside on the same network and can connect to the same wireless router.

The problem consists of the Linux computers being unable to connect to the TPlink to extend the range.

@blades I'm having the same issue with my range extender (TL_WA860RE) and one of my Linux laptops, a Fedora 33-based Acer (ath9k) and kernel 5.9.16. All my other computers, tablets, phones, running Android, Windows and macOS can see it without issue. I set it both as a Wi-fi range extender and an access point connected to the cabled segment of the network without issue. What kernel are you using?
