Region : France
Model : TL-WA801ND
Hardware Version : V2
Firmware Version : 3_13_30 (130121)
ISP : Free
Hello,
Here is my configuration:
- ISP box with wifi (192.168.0.254, no DHCP)
- TL-WA801ND in repeater mode (192.168.0.250, no DHCP) with a wired PC attached (192.168.0.25)
- Couple of PCs...
When no PC are Wifi connected to the TL-WA801ND, I can ping 192.168.0.254 from TL-WA801ND System tools \ Diasgnostics
As soon as a PC connects to the TL-WA801ND, I can not ping 192.168.0.254 anymore from TL-WA801ND System tools \ Diasgnostics
Also, each PC which is connected to the TL-WA801ND, does not have access to Internet.
I am completely stuck !
Any help will be appreciated

reset device to factory, if no go
u posted ISP : Free add internet providers gateway to network lan
these devices r sensible to mistakes in configuration, i advice, once u get it working back up ur data, and save it in a folder, so next time u dont like the behavior reset & reload.

Hello Danymarc,
The ISP box is a router :-)
I tried to set the gateway of TL-WA801ND to either nothing or 192.168.0.254. Both do not work.

All PCs that have a wired connection to the router can connect to Internet with gateway = 192.168.0.254
Any PCs that have a wireless connection to the router also have their gateway set to 192.168.0.254, but none of them can access Internet !
Also note that : When no PC are Wifi connected to the TL-WA801ND, I can ping 192.168.0.254 from TL-WA801ND System tools \ Diasgnostics

DHCP server is on the LAN (192.168.0.x)
add it to yours TL-WA801ND gateway,
as incredible as it sounds, configurating a device from a ISP 192.168.0.1 I got no internet and after a mistake i left on Netwok/Lan gateway 192.168.1.254 internet worked, saw the mistake and corrected, no internet, so i wrote it back the mistake, untill today, only way device delivers internet
the title of thread is Cannot get repeater mode working if you are using Repeater mode, try Universal Repeater if ur security is WEP, and if your security is WPA use Client mode.
Once a read a issue on other forum like yours, the only solution that guy found is using static IPs and all PCs
and last, with this devices has happen some times, you are configuring, and you save a wrong step, then correct it and save, never gives me internet, the only solution i have found is to reset, the device to factory defaults and start over.

Hi Dany,
As I was facing all those issues, I have started to use static IPs for all PCs (will be much harder for the printer, but we'll see...).
All the problem I have described were experienced when I was already using Universal Repeater.
When I tried Client mode, no wireless connection were possible as the TL-WA801ND was not generating any signal.

not just the TL-WA801ND all behave the same on Client, for wireless you have to add a router or a router set up as AP, by just turning off DHCP. if you have one, use Client, does a better job, and you wont need to use static.
I forgot to add this one on #8 just to let you know.
On a 5210 and a 340, that i set up for my daughter, because of the needs I have 2 modes set ups backed up, UR & Client, when i change mode from one to another, i default the device, and load backed set up, 40% of times does not give me internet, ask yourself why, if is a set up backed up.
Same as when usiing UR mode, everything works pefect, and you want to just see or repeat another ISP , I have notice that once you click SURVEY, some happens, and 20% of times you lose internet, just bu clicking Survey.
The 340 loves the bug of not letting you log into management
