I'd like to setup network as depicted below.

  • Deco 1 is the main Deco
  • Deco 2 and Deco 3 are connected to Deco 1 with a backhaul ethernet connection via Switch
  • other devices (PC on the picture) are connected to the same Switch

Is this kind of topology supported? Can I connect other devices directly to the backhaul ethernet ?

@tymek

Yes, they can. You can connect that way both wired devices and Decos. Your topology will work, as long as switch supports it.

@Alexandre.

Hi, sorry to piggyback this thread but it was the most similar set up to what I'm aiming for.

The only difference is I am hoping to run an ethernet cable from Deco 2 (slave) to a Playstation to achieve a wired connection. Will this work? Unfortunately the Switch is located downstairs and I can’t run another ethernet cable directly to the Playstation so hoping to use Deco 2 as a mini-Switch in this scenario to continue the wired connection.

In the below pictured topology, would the Decos be in Router mode or would any be in Access Point mode?

Cheers!

Yes, this will work - and, also, with that topology it does not matter if Decos run in Router or Access Point mode. As long as Deco 1 is set as Main Deco.
