My router is old, a single band unit.
Just purchased a Deco M4 of 3 units.
Deco is dual band.. .. is connecting it to a single band router give me reduced performance.. .. or the base unit will compensate for the single band router?
You will disable the router wifi and connect one of the decos by network cable to your router to act as main mesh wifi router.
The decos will then be the ones providing the wifi, your limit to the internet will be either the network cable limit (100Mbps or 1Gbps) or the internet (wan) speed you have contracted and that your old router supports.
