Model: Deco X60
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.5.0

Hi, I'm trying to use homeplug as mesh ethernet backhaul.

Directly wired connect from Main Deco to Sub Deco work which means not Deco devices are ok.

The following is the network architecture I'm try to do.

Internet >> wired >> Main Deco X60 >> wired >> Homeplug A >> circuit >> Homeplug B >> wired >> Sub Deco X60

However it doesn't work as what I think.

Sub Deco X60 still using wireless as back haul instead of ethernet back haul.

I had confirmed my laptop can get network connection from Homeplug B.

Therefore, I think the Homeplug (Zyxel PLA5265) might not support some protocol like IEEE 1905.1 causing this issue?

If so, I'm wondering whether Homeplug from TP-Link (TL-WPA4220, TL-PA4010 KIT) do work in this scenario?

I have an older ZyXel PLA5215 powerline adapters, tested with Deco M5 and can confirm Deco is using Ethernet backhaul in that configuration.

Somewhat strange the newer powerline adapter model from the same ZyXel brand that you have won't support Deco mesh.

@Alexandre.

Thanks for the infomation, I'm looking for using TP-Link homeplug instead.

I will try it this weekend (crossing finger).

If this can't work either, see if you could get same model of ZyXel powerline adapter I have.

I noticed mine has just one Ethernet port, yours - two, what if it makes the difference? Just in case, I would suggest you try with powerline adapters that only have one Ethernet port.

@Alexandre.

Thanks. I just tried TP-Link TL-PA4010 (one port), however it did not work either.

I thought homeplug work in layer 2 just like a hub.

In conclusion, not all homeplut work with Deco.

I compromised, using wireless back haul instead. Thanks for the info.

Many thanks.
