Archer AX20 V1 Firmware 1.3.0 - DNS address disappears on reboot.

Model: Archer A20
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.3.0 Build 20210318 rel.47238(4A50)

After updating the firmware, the DNS address set in DHCP disappears when rebooted.
The DNS address disappears in Access Point Mode, but it's okay in Router Mode.

Please tell me the solution.

Make sure the DNS has also been set in NETWORK - you'll see the DNS address at the bottom but hit the ADVANCED SETTINGS and make sure it's set to the same as DHCP.

Thank you for your reply.
However, I couldn't find ADVANCED SETTINGS on my model.

I guess make sure you're using a dynamic ip address... If so, you also need to enable the dynamic dhcp server which I use the TP link one... Here are a few screenshots and also the link to your owners manual from TP-Link which on page 20/118 it goes into detail.

In access point mode, the menu cannot be found.
It works correctly in router mode, but not in access point mode.

In AP mode the device doesn't have an Advanced menu - see here the difference in features between router and AP mode.

When in AP mode AX20 should only relay the DHCP settings from the main router to AX20 client devices - they receive their IP addresses and DNS settings from the main router's DHCP server.

That's why in AP mode the DHCP server of AX20 should be set to OFF, hence DNS setting not applicable.

DHCP on the main router is turned off. Because I don't want to use the DNS assigned by the provider. In previous firmware versions, DHCP on the AX20 worked fine even in AP mode, but in the latest version, a reboot clears the DNS.

In general there should be only one DHCP server in your network otherwise it could get messy.

I didn't realize that you were using the AX20 as DHCP/DNS server :

Are you saying that after configuring AX20 like this in AP mode, it doesn't retain its DNS settings ?

Reboot the wireless client to re-connect to the AX20 or the main router after these changes.

Have you tested in command prompt on a Windows client the output of: ipconfig /all

If the DNS servers you've set are correct ?

Otherwise you can set the main router (if possible) to run the DHCP server and set the DNS in Advanced settings like ItsMillerTime79 posted.

In this case AX20 DHCP server should be OFF.

I can't change DNS because my main router doesn't have advanced settings.
So I want to use DHCP of AX20.
DNS on the main router is turned off.

Before reboot

After reboot

What's your main router make and model ?

Try with ipconfig/all command, so you can see the DNS details.

My main router is a Japanese cable TV modem.
The manufacturer is Sumitomo Electric, and the model is BCW720J.

My main router DHCP Settings.  It's actually Japanese. Translated into English by Google translate.
