Unable to forward some ports in Virtual Servers of TL-R605
Unable to forward some ports in Virtual Servers of TL-R605
I recently replaced my old router with a new TL-R605. I have a number of devices and cameras on my network and I have found that several TCP ports are not forwarded correctly by the TL-R605 versus my old router. Is there any known issue with specific TCP ports for this product? I've noticed that when I attempt to diagnose the problem ports using PortCheckTool.com, the ports in question will suffer a "Connection timed out" failure. This is distinct from what is encountered when a port is blocked by the router, where the failure message will be "Connection refused." It seems as if the ports that I'm trying to forward are not necessarily completely blocked, but certainly not responding correctly. Does anyone have any idea what my problem may be?

The lack of response could also mean that a packet filter dropped the probe or any response it elicited.
Some ports need to be open for the network service, but when PortCheckTool tries to access those ports, the router doesn't reject nor accept, it just doesn't give any response, because the firewall is working. So we don't need to worry about the port security.
Not sure if it's the reason, what ports are not responding when you test it? Do you mean those ports is closed on your old Router? Have you already set a virtual server on R605?

- Virtual Server ports are forwarded on TL-R605 exactly the same as on my old router.
- They are routed to various IP cameras on my property.
- I am unable to access cameras that use these TCP ports: 8086,8086, 10000,10001,18086, 18087, 53, 88, 20000, 30000, and so on. I've tried more ports, but you get the idea.
- This was never a problem on my old router.

Do you configure and manage the R605 via the Omada Controller?
Is there any firewall configured on the R605 router?

- TL-R605 is configured directly; no Omada controller connected at all.
- TL-R605 is in DMZ from my WAN modem, so no firewall in effect. As stated previously, the TL-R605 has replaced an old router that had no problems forwarding the IP camera ports in the same network configuration.

Spending days trying to config. So much time wasted.
Port forward (virtual server), One-to-one NAT, DMZ.
All not working. Can't access LAN at all.
It is either the hardware is flawed or the software is extremely hard to configure.
If there is no fix, I will return it.

I have the same issue. Port forwarding are not correct or ports are not forwarded at all.
I am using VOIP 5060 port, some time it does work, other it just stop.
Model: TL-R605
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.0.1 Build 20210113 Rel.35074
There are occasions that if I turn off and then on the "Get IP using Unicast DHCP" , then it start working for few hours, maybe a day. Any idea how to fix this?
Is there any good port checker tool I can use? All the online once are telling me that all ports are closed, even 80 one. So dont trust it much.
