Model: TL-WR840N

Hardware Version: V6

Firmware Version: 0.9.1_4.16 v0001.0 Build 180614 Rel.40494n

I am confused with the hardware version of my router. On the product box the version mentioned near the bar code is v6.20 but in the web interface the current hardware version is TL-WR840N v6 00000007, which means v6. I want to upgrade to the latest version of the firmware. If I assume my router is of v6 then there is no new update for it. But if its v6.20 then why does the default firmware it comes with is of v6 (which was released in 2018) and not of v6.20 ? Thanks for the help.

If on the bottom sticker says v6.20, that means it is v6.20 and you can go ahead and update with v6.20 version - that's the main source to determine the HW version.

On the web interface only the major version is displayed - "v6" in your case.

Here's a reference how to read the bottom sticker information.
