Model: Archer C9
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 4.0.0 Build 20160517 Rel. 63505

Channels 36, 40, 44 and 48 are the only 5ghz Channels I can access with my TP-Link Archer C9 V2 router. There is a lot of traffic on these channels in my UK street.

It has been suggested that my C9 might be able to use other 5ghz channels but that the firmware would have to be updated for it to do so.

3 firmware updates for UK C9s are currently available for download from the TP-Link website I.e.

  1. Archer C9_V2_160315 - published 2016-03-15
  2. Archer C9(UN)_V2_151230 - published 2015-12-30
  3. Archer C9_V2_150708 published 2015-07-08

Could someone please tell me which if any of these firmware updates allow a UK Archer C9 to access 5ghz channels other than 36, 40, 44, and 48. If more than one does which is the most recommended for a Home User?

@Caffinite

Archer C9 doesn't support DFS channels and that's the reason you don't see other channels than 36, 40, 44 and 48.

I believe this is the latest FW version that you can use for your device, but again that won't change its wireless capacity.
