Hi,

like the topic says, I would like to ask for a full list of TP link devices, that support 802.11 k v r for fast roaming. I found some topics about certain devices and an article about your business solutions, but I think a list of all opportunities would help a lot of people.

After learning that a mesh between routers isn't possible yet, I'd like to implement an Access Point infrastructure. Therefore I plan to use Archer AX1800 routers.

Looking forward to your answers.

Thanks in advance.

Patrick

Since you already know that OneMesh can't be built between two routers, using AX1800 as an APs won't give you the 802.11 k v r .

If you want to benefit from 802.11 k v r then using a Deco solution or Omada solution is the way to go.

@PBSmile

OneMesh can be between two routers. There is a beta firmware with a mesh between routers. But it is not yet given to users. The fact that initially the mesh router-router was not implemented is the failure of TP-Link. I really hope that they will fix this in the formware official release. And it will be done correctly ...

@STN

Thank you guys.

Did TP link tell you about this beta firmware? Is there a chance to use an existing lan infrastructure for mesh or does mesh always mean that the connection between the devices is also wireless?

Greetings!

In general 'mesh' means that the units are wirelessly connected - EAP Mesh FAQ Q1/A1.

Deco solution can use an existing LAN ifrastructure to deploy an ethernet backhaul.

It's the same with Omada solution - you can have wired any of the EAPs - check this post.

@PBSmile

Our local support team reports that such firmware is expected and that it is already in beta, but has not yet been distributed. There are no other details yet. Whether it will appear in the end is also not known. Let's hope that the TP-link will fix its failure with onemesh and make a mesh router-router.
