When I try changing the MAC address from the registry in WinXP, the adapter will not be able to connect to other networks, but it will be able to scan for nearby networks...

help?

As far as I know, you can't change a MAC address.... It's physically embedded into the device, and unique to that device. You can SPOOF it, but not CHANGE it. Do you mean the IP address?
