I am having problems with my new TL-WA850RE.

I have a IP cam which uses UPnP to configure the routing so that it is possible to access the IP cam from the internet. When the IP cam connects directly to my wireless router (which supports UPnP) it works fine however when it connects via my new range extender the IP cam thinks all is good however it is not possible to connect to it from the internet.

I suspect that the TL-WA850RE does not support the UPnP setup.

Can anyone confirm 100% if the TL-WA850RE supports UPnP,

It seems that can't support UPnP but you had better contact TP-LINK support to confirm the specific information. :)

Hi, I'm having similar issue where the WeMo app on my iPhone is unable to discover the WeMo device that is connected to the range extender when the iPhone is connected to my router (the root AP). From all I could find, it really seems like the root cause would be that the wa850re does not support Upnp/multicast :(
Apparently, this is not an uncommon limitation of range extenders. I wonder if this limitation is hardware-bound or if this could be added as a new feature as part of a future firmware upgrade (or a dd-wrt port).

I've got a 850RE, and it does support multicast.
Using Wireshark can simply capture the multicast packets sending from other devices.
