Hi,

I have purchased the TL-WA850RE and have successfully got it to connect to my router and thus extend the Internet. It works perfect for a while.

However, after a set amount of time the TL-WA850RE will drop the Internet connection. The TL-WA850RE says it is still connected and shows full signal etc, but the Internet will no longer work on devices connected to the TL-WA850RE. If I turn the TL-WA850RE off and turn it back on again the problem will resolve.

However, again after a set amount of time the problem returns.

It is the TL-WA850RE (UK) Ver 1.0

Can you help? Is there a newer firmware?

Try to change another wireless channel on your original router.

Checked TP-LINK website and seems there is no newer firmware for V1 so far.

same problem here with v1.2 devices.


Router: TL-WR841N - 3rd Floor

1st WA850RE - 2nd Floor
2nd WA850RE - 1st Floor

WA850RE from 2nd Floor is connteced to the TL-WR841N,
and the WA850RE from 1st Floor is connected to the WA850RE on the 2nd Floor.


All works fine for 2 hours... then the WA850RE from 2nd Floor will not connect to the Internet anymore, but
it is still connected to WR841N. But with restricted access...


I have set a static wireless channel but still same problems, all devices are on their latest firmware.

Please teach me how to, I know about static IP but static wireless channel, wow, thats a new one.

BUMP.

Having the same issue. Works perfectly for around an hour then drops out for a few seconds. Particularly annoying when streaming video via SkyGo on Xbox Live as have to reboot everything. Did changing wireless channel work? Not sure why it would... Thanks

Same thing here. I have to unplug, wait for device to connect and then plug the TL-WA850RE in to improve signal. After a bit it disconnects. When its not connecting the wifi signal is going from none to every few seconds. Its like its pulsing.

Fixed in latest firmware? (Build date 140310)

I had similar issues, where the extender would continue to transmit it's SSID, but refuse connections after being switched on for a day or so. Power cycling was the only fix. However, the latest firmware (dated 140310) seems to have fixed this problem. I have had a continuous connection for 3 days. Hopefully it lasts.

I had the same problem.

Try to use a static IP address for the tp-link.

It works for me.
