702N runs as repeater mode to W8968. In 702N > Maintenance > Diagnostic the ping work for Internal network but fail for external IPs.
Most devices connected to 702 can access Internet fine.
I have also tried Bridge and Client mode.

Ping to W8968
Pinging 10.0.0.1 with 64 bytes of data:

Reply from 10.0.0.1: bytes=64 time=1 TTL=64 seq=1
.............
Ping to Internet
Pinging 8.8.8.8 with 64 bytes of data:

Request timed out.
.............
As you can ping 10.0.0.1 on the repeater, the suggests the connection between the W8968 and WR702N is OK.
When connect your device to the repeater by cable, are you able to automatically obtain an appropriate IP address assigned by the W8968 through the repeater on this device?

As I mentioned in another thread, I have the same problem in both client mode and repeater mode. However for me, the connected devices cannot access the internet either. I'm glad it's not just me that has this problem, it's clearly a configuration or firmware issue.

Have you tried other external IPs instead of 8.8.8.8 via the TL-WR702N's diagnostic tool? How about the result?
As you mentioned devices connected to the WR702N can access internet, i suspect you can ping 8.8.8.8 on your device, right?

Pinging / tracert to others IPs / domains from diagnostic tools doesn't work.

I can do that fine from attached device.

Here is my suggestion:
on the WR702N's page, go to DHCP and enter TD-W8968's LAN IP address into "default gateway" on the "DHCP settings" page. Then save and reboot the WR702N.
Then check if you are able to ping external IPs.
