Hello Everyone,

I live in a 2 floor house and have a tp link c7 router connected on a 300mbps fiber connection. As of now, c7 is in mesh with re220 to extend the network. I am planning to buy tp link archer c6.

Main reason for the same is:

1. To extend the signals

2. To get proper speed as on re220, speed doesnt cross 50mbps in spite of being dual band.

Kindly suggest if it would be a good decision to loop in c6 in c7's mesh network and whether c6 and c7 can connect wirelessly or not.

Thanks in advance

@VijayKapoor

You can't have OneMesh between two routers - OneMesh FAQ - Q10.

You can add a second RE from this list to expand the existing OneMesh further.

1. In general C6 has the WDS feature, which would allow it to connect to C7 wirelessly.

Not sure how that will work since C7 is already engaged with re220 in OneMesh.

2. Better use C6 in AP mode - wireless connection would be more stable and faster.

In both scenarios C6 won't be part of your existing OneMesh, but with the second one you'll expand your wireless coverage and increase the bandwidth.

Depending on your budget there is another solution - Deco in AP mode using your existing C7.
