Model: Archer C7  
Hardware Version: V5
Firmware Version: 1.0.11

I'm trying to access the internet using an Archer C7 and a Sony Experia mobile phone. I'm familiar with the LAN side of things and can easily connect all devices to the router but having trouble connecting the router to the internet via the mobile phone. All help gratefully received.

Have you observed the WDS status in C7:

 

" Now you can go to Advanced > Status > Wireless to check the WDS status. When the WDS status is Run, it means WDS bridging is successfully built. "

If the status is different then the WDS was not successfully built.

If that's the case check if you have WDS Mode in your WDS settings and set to WDS1, then test again.

 

 

If it still doesn't work consider this note:

In order to build a successful WDS connection between different devices, it requires that both devices usethe same wireless MAC address format.For example,Site A uses 4-address MAC Address format in passive WDS bridge mode,Site B also uses 4-address MAC Address format in active WDS bridge mode.
WDS may be incompatible between different products (even occasionally from the same vendor) since the IEEE 802.11-1999 standard does not define how to construct any such implementations or how stations interact to arrange for exchanging frames of this format.-----From Wikipedia

Your best bet is to use the WDS feature of C7 and try to build WDS between C7 and the Sony Experia mobile hotspot.

@terziyski Many thanks for the info. Set up the WDS link and managed to ping the mobile from the router but can't see the internet beyond
