Hi Community,

 

i use some WLAN Expander type above and get a seciruty meassage issue at my iOS devices like - unsecure connection detect.

 

After update into the last firmware i can't disable WPA just WPA/WPA2 together.

I sniff the WLAN signal and saw the connection protocoll send wpa handshakes too, not ONLY WPA2.

WPA isn't secure and can be use to interrupt and crack my hole netzwork for some tp-link expanders!

 

So please help me to disable WPA and just send a clean WPA2-PSK connection handshake, thank you very much.

I'm interested to all fixes, workaround and more to this problem, still other firmware too - it hast to fix;)

Thank you very much. I do a full reset and set it up via web interface again (after firmware update;)
Now the WPA-PSK connection is exactly the same like the source system!

Hello  @Netcrowd 

Did you factory reset the range extender after update to the latest firmware? Ensure router is using WPA2-PSK( AES) encryption first, later factory reset and reinstall range extender. 

Note: If you use Tether app to install extender, make sure firmware is up-to-date. You could find more troubleshooting details from below thread.
