Model: Archer C6
Hardware Version: V3
Firmware Version:

Hi

My ISP router WIFI was not sufficient, so I expand my network with Archer C6 connected LAN to LAN with ISP router and RE315 connected to Archer. On RE315 firmware check works without problem but on Archer firmware check does not work, along with time sync and related functions. For some reason router only use WAN port to do so. I will not create subnet and connect Archer trough WAN to time sync, scheduled reboot and firmware update. Is there a way to force device to use LAN as internet access instead WAN?

Why don't you set Archer C6 in AP mode - case 1.

Connect ISP router LAN port to Archer WAN port and test if that will work for you.

@terziyski

Thank you, why I don't think about that?

What I want is AP mode with OneMesh but for some reason know only to TP-Link OneMesh is not supported in AP mode only in Router mode. So my choices are OneMesh without full device functionality, OneMesh with full device functionality but with subnet and double NAT (no bridge mode in ISP router) or AP mode without OneMesh. My fault for not clarified that, but I thinked that OneMesh is obvious for Archer C6 + RE315 combo.

I asked this question in hope of a solution, but now I'm starting to realize that if TP-Link will not release firmware update then there is none.

Sorry, I didn't realize that you're using this setup because of the OneMesh feature.

There's no solution to this - since you're not using the C6 WAN port, there's no option to set its time correctly nor check for FW updates.

I've seen users connecting cable between router's LAN port and WAN port just to mitigate this situation (similar when using router's WDS feature), but I don't think that's a good idea.
