Client mode - problem with some TV (e.g. SAMSUNG SMART TV)
Region : Poland
Model : TL-WR702N
Hardware Version :
Firmware Version : TL-WR702N_V1_130314
ISP :
Problem with TP-Link TL-WR702N in the Client mode.
When you connect TV to TL-WR702N in client mode TV cannot access Internet and cannot communicate with computers in wireless network.
This is a problem with ARP packets. When TV sends ARP-Request TL-WR702N(in client mode) translates it correctly and sends to wireless network, but when ARP-Replay comming from wireless network is forwarded by TL-WR702N(in client mode) to wired network, it translates destination MAC address in Ethernet header but doesn't change MAC address in ARP-Replay body (Target-MAC-Address field).
So TV recives ARP-Replay with its destination MAC address in Ethernet header but in ARP message body there is a different Target-MAC-address (TL-WR702N MAC-address) and packet is dropped. In this situation TV cannot send Ethernet packet to destination. The same situation is in brigde or repeater mode.
Windows computers accept this ARP-Replay packet and it works well but TV not.
It was sent to support but there is no answer so maybe here someone will see this and take some action to resolve this problem.
