Hello

Constant 1145mbps to hub, only averaging 96mbps from the 4 Ethernet ports on back, tried many cables 5/6 etc. with multiple devices.
I have 7 M5 units around the home, main one plugged into virgin hub. I want to hard wire all the decos from the main deco, currently all using WiFi.

what settings do I need

to have the decos and hub in to allow this?

deco = router or access

hub = modem or router

I have tried putting my virgin hub in modem mode, which stopped the deco working and I had to reset, can't view 0os as not an option with M5.

at the locations I have decos, devices are connected via Ethernet cables.

You may wish to have conversation with your ISP Technical Support. It is possible your hub Ethernet ports are configured 100Mbps instead of gigabit, or something like that.

You will need the following: "deco = access point," "hub = router."

Also, in that configuration, you can wire Deco M5s directly to hub, you do not need to wire them all through Main Deco. See General questions about Ethernet Backhaul feature on your Deco

If hub does not have enough Ethernet ports for all your Deco units, you can attach switch to hub and also connect Decos to switch. Just like on the third picture in that document.
