C7 v5 firmware 1.1.4 issues
C7 v5 firmware 1.1.4 issues
Hi,
I have 2 of the above. One used as an access point. I have just installed the latest firmware (1.1.4) and done a power cycle on the unit. Now when you click the 'Check for upgrade' button the response is 'No internet connection'.
Unit is connected and I can access the internet through it via wireless and wired. Looks like an error in the firmwre?
Thanks

Moved over to WAN port. No difference.
I have 3 C7s 2 as AP and one connected to BT FTTP.
All 3 were updated to the latest 1.1.4 via the 'check for upgrade button'. So it was working in the previous version. So whatever configuration changes were implemented by tp-link in the upgrade have caused the issue as no other settings have been changed.

This FW version (1.1.4) has been published for the US region since the beginning of November last year.
I presume it's not much different than the same FW release for the EU region.
Can you post your network settings for:

On the main router DHCP Server set Primary DNS: 8.8.8.8 , Secondary DNS: 1.1.1.1
Keep the connection: main router LAN port => AP router WAN port
Test again.

Hi there,
Gave it a go, no change.
Not sure what changing the external DNS provider would do?
As I explained before the only change that was made to the setup was the update. As the update was done via the web portal on all 3 routers, NOT downloaded, the only variable is the update itself.
Both of the APs are connected to the internet as I can carry out a manual time setting and I can access the internet via wireless and wired connections on both of them.
Many thanks,

Sorry my bad.
This setting would have mattered if your AP routers were set to Smart IP(DHCP) and you have made an Address Reservation on the main router for them.
Sometimes to detect Internet TP-Link devices use Google DNSes - hence this experiment.
Try changing the Internet DNS settings on the main C7 here:
Advanced=>Network=>Internet - scroll down
Click on Advanced arrow, then select "Use the following DNS Addresses" radio button.
Type the DNS IPs from my previous post and then Save.
Test again to see if it makes any difference.
