I am being able to use my C50 AC1200 Dual band as range extender but. it takes the gateway of my main router. Then, I have no longer control over the tplink router , and its features.

How do I setup it as range extender so that I can still control C50 and its features.

Go through your user guide Chapter 6 to learn how to configure C50 in RE mode.

By default it receives its LAN IP address from the DHCP server of your main router.

That's why C50 takes the GW of your main router - C50 LAN IP address is set to Smart IP(DHCP).

If you search through the main router DHCP clients table you'll find the C50 LAN IP address.

Then you can browse http://<C50 LAN IP address> or http://tplinkwifi.net in you browser and then login.
