Model: RE450
Hardware Version: V3
Firmware Version: 190124

I bought a RE450 from Amazon the otherday. When it got here I dicovered that it was Hardware V3 which stopped updating firmware two years ago? Whereas V4 is still updated.

Did Amazon sell me obsolete goods?

What is the difference in capabilities between V3 & V4?

Can V3 be upgraded?

 Hello  @Nisken

1. RE450 V3 & V4 are the same in hardware specifications and basic features, the main difference is that so far RE450 V4 supports OneMesh feature which could built a seamless Wi-Fi mesh network with tp-link OneMesh router:

For OneMesh compatibility, please refer to updated list here : OneMesh Compatibility list

Note that the hardware version of a device is fixed could not be upgraded through software / firmware update method.

2. Here is the latest firmware for EU version  RE450 (EU) V3
