Model: Archer C54
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: (EU)_V1_210830

hello all,

i have an issue to access remote the archer C54 as a second router (user Private IP as WAN IP), that the internet browser shown "Opening" title but the page is blank, like this :

i already try it as an Access Point, change remote port, and also change the firmware to (EU)_V1_210830 and Archer C54(US)_V1_210319 (argentina region) but the result is same.

is there any other way to access the system of C54 as secondary Router or access point from internet?

In general this can be configured as follows.

1) When the C54 is in router mode (double NAT):

if your C54 is with WAN IP address 192.168.5.58 the remote access can be set as follows.

Configure the remote access on C54:

Open a TCP port on your main router like this:

In this case you should be able to remote access C54 on the following URL: http://<your public IP address>:8080 from an external network (from Internet).

2) When the C54 is in access point mode(single NAT from your main router):

if your C54 is with LAN IP address 192.168.5.58 the remote access can be set as follows.

Open a TCP port on your main router like this:

In this case you should be able to remote access C54 on the following URL: http://<your public IP address>:8080 from an external network (from Internet).

If you are connected to your main router you can access C54 as follows:

1) When C54 is in router mode and its WAN IP address is 192.168.5.58 on the URL: http://192.168.5.58:8888

2) When C54 is in AP mode and its LAN IP address is 192.168.5.58 on the URL: http://192.168.5.58

If you are connected to C54 you can access it on it's LAN IP address on the URL: http:<C54 LAN IP address>

 Dear  @terziyski,

thank you for your reply.

i already test using the configurations for C54 as secondary router (same as your guide), but the result is same. Still blank page browser and "Opening" title at browser tab.
here's the configuration, i make :

maybe there is another way?maybe there is another way?

According to your screenshots you have not double, but triple NAT in your local network.

In front of the WR940N you have another (ISP provided probably) modem/router, hence the reason not able to access C54 from Internet.

Describe your network topology in details so I can tell if remote access to C54 is even possible in your case.

In general what I would do is to configure WR940N and C54 in AP mode (they both support AP mode).

This way by opening ports on your first router (the one before WR940N),  WR940N and C54 would be remotely accessible and your LAN communications will be much less complicated.

Dear  @terziyski,

i'm sorry, i forgot to mention, this is 2 device (TL-WR940N main router and C54 2nd router)  is just for trial and error simulation, before i implementation the worked configuration at real site.
which, this problems occurred at the actual site same as i simulated now.

for that capture of my simulation,  my pc IP is same network as the main router TL-WR940N WAN, so i think, like it can simulate me access from internet. is that right?
I want access the C54 through TL-WR940N WAN IP but always shown blank "Opening" page.

I wonder, this happens on c54 only. i implemented like this on another type of router like A6, its fine (i can access it as a secondary router/AP).

Given your topology description this simulation should work, but I can't say why it isn't.

Why don't you give a try with C54 in AP mode:

C54 LAN IP - 192.168.100.11

WR940N virtual server:

Service port: 8080, Internal port: 80, Internal IP: 192.168.100.11, Protocol: TCP

Also look for a setting like the following and disable it (screenshots is from C64 but it can be present in C54 as well):

Then from your PC open the URL: http://192.168.5.58:8080

I have simulated this with Archer C64 in AP mode and it works for me.

If this still doesn't work and you can simulate the same with A6 but not with C54 then probably there's some issue with the C54 FW.

 Dear @terziyski ,

well, i already try the configuration according to your instructions. but the result is same.

Here the C54 Configuration :

the only problem in C54 as an Access Point (also as 2nd router), the option for "HTTP Referer Head Check" is not available like C64 firmware capture you give :D .

Apparently C54 lacking this feature makes you unable to archive the setup intended.

Here's a story which describes how to remotely access an Archer C64 in a double NAT scenario.

What you could do is to fill a feature request here if you want to:
