I want to update the router software, but I'm hesitant not to hurt. Reason for update - I want to use as a repeater to "continue" the network signal. Give advice on how to do it right.

Here's a guide on how to upgrade your router's FW manually.

Just make sure the FW region and HW version downloading match your device bottom sticker.

I would also advise you to create a backup (paragraph 2.5), to determine the version of the current software, you can use other methods (paragraph 2.2).
