WDR-4900 MAC Binding doesn't work
Region : Hongkong
Model : TL-WDR4900
Hardware Version : V1
Firmware Version : latest
ISP :
Hi,
I have set a rule to release a Port for data transmission in "Forwarding" as following:
Port: 8222 IP Address: 192.168.0.100
and I have also binded my pc's MAC address to the above IP so that everytime the Port 8222 port should show Green in my BT client
but then I realize it is not always the case (unless my PC is the first and only device to connect to the router at that time), so I head back to the router's control page, seems that the MAC Binding doesn't work
although there is a rule being set that my PC to bind to 192.168.0.100, but saw that the IP is not reserved for my PC, it connects to whichever the first device uses the router (i.e. my phone or family member's phone/pc)
I then try to bind my pc to another IP, say 192.168.0.110 (or 192.168.0.123, while I just have 6 devices at home which can access the router)
but then my PC wont connect to .110, it still connects to the smallest IP number starting from .100
I remember there was no problem when I was using WR-1043ND and WR-841N
Or is this a known issue? Will be fixed in the next firmware? please advise, this has been bugging me since March 2013, I finally have time to write this.
