Wireless adapter has suddenly stopped working!

Hi All,
I purchased the adapter about 2 months ago and everything worked fine. When I went to use the PC the adapter did not work, no flashing lights and the PC didn't seem to recognize the adapter. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the driver and that has not done anything, it picks up the wireless signal for a second and stops responding. Also when I was doing all this the adapter gets very hot, I don't know if it did this before and if this is normal?!
