I noted that the US version of firmware available here https://www.tp-link.com/us/support/download/archer-ax50/#Firmware was published only a few months ago, and includes "

Modifications and Bug Fixes: Enhance device security."

 

If this is a security update, why is it not available everywhere? e.g. Australia where I am from still only has firmware from almost 1 year ago.

AX50 FW with these updates, has been released so far, for the US region only. Your AX50 is most likely with the EU region FW version.

I would assume that a similar FW release for the EU region, is about to be released soon as well - just keep an eye on the support page.
