Model: Deco X60
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.5.0 Build 20210121 Rel. 54042

I recently bought a pack of 3 X60's (Ver 1).

So far I have only set up one unit as the main unit (I'm moving houses and keeping the rest in the box for now).

I have it running with the default config, no QoS, no Antivirus/filtering options enabled.

So all of the below relates to a single main X60 unit.

I have a stable internet connection (1 Gigabit down, 500mbps up).

Previously I was using Deco M9s without issue.

An issue that has cropped up, is that the Wifi speed occasionally becomes very slow for devices, and the only way to resolve it to hard-reboot the Deco.

As an example:

- Speed tests performed by my iPhone 13 and/or Macbook Air consistently show 450mbps, with multiple tests throughout the day

- Then after a couple hours, Wifi to internet speeds slow down considerably (sometimes to 80mbps, sometimes 10mbps).

- At this point, doing a 'internet speed test' in the Deco app shows my full internet speed.

- The only way to resolve the issue is then to hard-reboot the unit.

- I have tried using the other units as the primary.

- I have tried another factory reset of the unit.

All tests performed while standing directly next to the unit.

Confirmed with a wifi scanning program on my laptop that I am not getting any channel interference from my neighbour.

Looking through the logs, I see some errors cropping up occasionally, below is an extract showing logs for my iPhone (filtered by MAC):

---------

1) Do these logs suggest anything?

2) I've read reports that the V1 of the X60's have issues, am I better off trying to get a later hardware version?

3) Should I give up and go back to the M9s?

@Support - Willing to try beta firmware to get this resolved.

Thanks,

Alex

  @Solja

Hello,

In my experience the only Deco which is able to keep the WiFi speed normal is X90.

However X90 is incompatible with most devices and there is no way to connect them to the internet. X60 is far more compatible.

So you should choose:
X90 - fast speed everywhere, but you can use only your newest devices

X60 - WiFi drops, but you can use almost your all devices

Other brand - Get everything cheaper and reliable with updates every week

Frustrated Deco (X90, M9 Plus, M4R, E4) & Tapo (C200, C210) owner looking for solutions to use the investment in them. Expensive Plastic...
