I am trying to use the TL-WR902AC Router in 3G / 4G mode connected to a Huawei K5160 Vodafone Connect USB stick

The router has Level 3 hardware and the firmware installed is version 0.9.1 0.3 v.0089.0 Build 191018 Rel.34379n (4555).

However, the stick is not recognized by the router.

These are the data related to the stick:

I would like to know how to use this stick coupled to the TL-WR902AC router.

You can upgrade the TL-WR902AC to its latest FW version - here and then test if the Vodafone (HUAWEI) K5160 is recognized.

If after that K5160 hasn't been recognized, then you won't be able to use it - here's a troubleshooting guide and 3G/4G USB compatibility list.

The TL-WR902AC router is already updated at the latest FW version. I have looked at the compatibility list, but is empty for Italy country.

I have also tried to reset the router, but the stick is still not recognized

There's a newer FW version - use this link for downloading - you need the EU version.

Then test if the USB modem is recognized. If not, then you can't use this USB modem.

Many thanks for your help. I have tried the newer FW version you pointed me, but unfortunately also with this version the K5160 stick is not recognized.

I have found on TP-Link web site a tool to create a bin file starting from the Windows drivers using an USB Sniffer, but this tool requires a computer with Windows XP that I do not have any more.

So probably I will not be able to use the router with this stick.
