Firmware Version: 3.0.5 Build 220419 Rel 1012n

Hi

I opened this new thread because a previous one from another user was closed without any solution.

https://community.tp-link.com/en/home/forum/topic/247988?page=1

My Firmware is up to date ( ISP is up to date as well )

My Wireless setting are set to AES

Still my Volvo V90 (2017 ) considers this as TKIP WPA  and won't connect.

It does even not "remembers" this connection so there is even no profile to delete and retry after changing the settings.

I think there shlould be a option to select WPA2 AES only i ( instead of WPA-PSK / WPA2 AES combination as you can see in image above )

From other posts I think this is not a volvo only issue but other cars had the same problem.

You should indicate somehow that this device is not compatible with ( some ) cars.

The fact that this issue is reported almost a year ago and not taken serious is antother disappoinment in tp link.

I can consider to buy the more expensive M7450 of M7650 version , But at this point I cannot trust this products to work.

Kind regards

  @Volvo_seko

Hi, please install the following firmware for your M7200(EU) V3:

M7200(EU)_V3_220812

After that, please select WPA2 AES only to see if it will solve the problem.

Hi  @Sunshine

Thanks for helping me out and your swift response.

And ....the update of this firmware solves my problem blush !!

Updating the firmware + selecting WPA2 AES only

Hopefully this will help other Volve drivers as well who don't have a build in modem.

This problem could be related to compatibility or settings. Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try:

  1. Verify compatibility: Ensure that your M7200 device supports the same Wi-Fi standards and encryption protocols (including WPA2) as your car's Wi-Fi system. If there is a garage, you may need to consider alternative connectivity options.

  2. Check Wi-Fi settings: Make sure that your M7200 device is configured to connect to WPA2-secured networks. You may need to adjust the Wi-Fi settings on the device to match the car's network requirements.
