Model: Deco XE75
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version: 1.1.8

Just purchased, installed and updated firmware on deco XE75.

I can enable and use the guest network, but when I go to advanced options I only see "band" and " channel width".

I run a guest house and limiting the bandwidth of the guest network is a basic feature that I require.

If the supposedly modern XE75 can't do something basic like that then I'll have to return it.

Not every Deco model supports bandwidth limit. I am not familiar with X75, but if it does, this is where it can be found.

Schedule and bandwidth limit to guest network: under Deco App > More > Wi-Fi > Guest Network.

See https://www.tp-link.com/en/support/faq/1460/

If you can't find these settings under Guest Network, Deco XE75 does not support Guest Network bandwidth limits and schedule yet. The workaround would be to enable 2.4GHz band only for Guest Network, thus severely limiting its bandwidth comparing with WiFi5/6/6E protocols.

Deco X50 and X55 do support bandwidth limit the way it is described in the FAQ, consider them if you plan to return XE75. Just note that they both are WiFi6, not WiFi6E. Also, they are dual-band, not tri-band like XE75.

@Alexandre. I just don't understand why the latest hardware wouldn't support the latest features.  Seems so stupid.  The purposefully opaque marketing suggested that this feature was supported by the XE75.

2.4Ghz still supports up to 450mbps which means my guests could still easily destroy my Starlinks datacap, preventing me from working.

I do share your feelings, and also XE75 firmware version number 1.1.8 hints at supporting the feature. TP-Link listed it as supported in firmware 1.1.* for X50/X55. Yet, if XE75 does not, it does not.

I don't think you need something as powerful as XE75 for Starlink, which is 100Mbps on a good day.

If you want to give TP-Link another chance, consider X50/X55, or even WiFi5 only M5 and M9 Plus. Note that firmware which allows to limit guest network bandwidth is still in beta for M9 Plus. For X50, X55 and M5 it is officially released.

@Alexandre. Having the dedicated 6Ghz channel for backhaul appealed to me for other applications on my network, internet sharing wasn't my only desired application.

My first and last TP link product sadly lasted 3 hours.  I won't purchase again!

FYI my starlink is currently doing 350Mbps.
