Combination of different types of boosters M4 / X20
I still need 1 extra WiFi booster. Now I have 3 TP Link M4. Can one (1) Deco X20 WiFi 6 be added, or is it better to combine only the same type of boosters?
And If this is advisable, should I make the new X20 booster my main Deco?

I would recommend not to mix X20 and M4 in one Deco mesh. Your better options are: additional M4, S4 or M5. TP-Link does sell single M5 units, and also they may be cheaper than X20. I suggest you check M5 prices and get M5 as an addition for your Deco mesh.
Reasoning behind this recommendation.
X20 will work together with M4, TP-Link Support is right about it. But having X20 (WiFi6) is not necessary for Internet speeds you have. Also, adding X20(WiFi6) to Deco M4 mesh (WiFi5) may create subtle issues for wireless devices that support WiFi6. Such device may have challenge in deciding when to roam from WiFi6 node to the rest of the mesh running WiFi5 and back. Will it stick to WiFi6 signal even if it becomes extremely weak while you walk away from X20? Will it not? With Deco mesh all supporting just WiFi5, wireless device does not have that question to ask and decisions to make you may not be happy with.

To give you a good answer, I'll need to ask you for more information:
1. What is Internet speed at your place (ISP provided Internet package)?
2. Do you plan to buy just one Deco X20, or your plan is to gradually upgrade your Deco mesh from WiFi5 hardware (M4) to WiFi6 hardware (X20) by replacing Deco M4 units one after another with X20s?

hello Alexandre,
thank you for replying.
1) download 350 Mbps, and upload 35 Mbps.
2) I intend to buy just one more Deco in the foreseeable future. I have 3 M4 boosters from my internetprovider. I need just one more to improve coverage in an extension of our house. I can rent or buy another 3 M4 boosters (package), but I really need just one extra. Other option is to buy a single X20 booster. Helpdesk wasn't really helpful. "It should work". But is it advisable?
(Of course I can search elsewhere for buying this additional booster. Internetprovider offertes some deals.)
Thank you for your advise!
