I have an Mesh Wi-Fi extender AC750 dual band RE220, which I cannot for the life of me link to my router which is an AC1200 wireless dual band gigabit VoIP VDSL/ADSL Modem Router,  Archer VR1210v.

I'm constantly directed to the app, which tells me to go the the website which tells me to download the app - catch 22 situation  

is there anyone who can help?

Hi, Usually App will not let users go to web interface unless you need to manage some advanced functions that are not available on the App. While when you login web interface, if you see the direction about Tether App, you will still have another option to continue using web interface.

 

Therefore, if you still have any problem configuring the range extender, please share with us some screenshots.

 

You could also refer to this instruction to configure your range extender again carefully:
