Model: Archer AX55
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.1.8 Build 20230304 rel.60634(5553)

Hello Community.

I have an Archer AX55 v1.0 (AX3000) Router with Firmware 1.1.8 Build 20230304 rel.60634(5553)
The problem is that I have to configure it to reset a couple of times a day since it won't let me access a server via remote desktop.
If I reset the router, I can immediately access the server via remote desktop.
Thank you so much

Hola Comunidad.

Muchas gracias

Hi,

Are your computer and the server both in the LAN network of the Archer AX55? and are they connected via LAN cable or via WiFi?

When the problem happens, please don't restart the router next time, instead, please check if internet still works fine on the router and the two devices.

You could also try to ping the server IP address on your computer to see if ping still works, which could confirm whether they are still able to communicate with each other at that moment.

How to Use the Ping Command

Hi Sunshine!

Thank you very much for answering.
The server is connected to the Router by ethernet cable. They are in the same network (192.168.1.xxx)
The funny thing is that it does not let me enter (until I restart the router) only if it is through Remote Desktop.
If I enter the server through AnyDesk or TeamViewer, I don't have any problem.
Thank you

Hi, Anydesk and Teamviewer doesn't require being within the same LAN, so when the Remote Desktop stops working, please check if ping still works which is to confirm if they are still able to communicate with each other within the same LAN.

@Sunshine

Sorry I haven't responded before, I was dealing with certain issues.

I tell you, if I PING from a PC within the local network (192.168.1.xxx) to the server that is connected to a fixed IP (190.15.212.xxx), it responds correctly.

If I am in my office with an IP from my internet provider (200.14.333.xxx), it tells me "timed out" So I don't know how to answer your question.

Thank you so much.

Muchas gracias.

Kind of confused, is 190.15.212.xxx the server IP address? if so, it seems that it is not in your local network since your local network is 192.168.1.x.

That IP (190.15.212.xxx) is a Fixed IP that the internet provider gives us to be able to access the server from outside the intranet or local network.

Hi, if you would like to access the server via remote desktop from an external network, you need to configure port forwarding on the router to open port for the Remote Desktop Protocal, if you haven't done that, please refer to this guide:

Port forwarding: how to set up virtual server on TP-Link wireless router?

A certain port is open, it is not the problem. The problem is that I have to reset the router every XX number of hours because it doesn't always let me access the server.

Hi, this issue happens only when you are trying to access the server from an external network? or the same when you access the server within the local network?

Only when I try to access the server from an external network. If I reset the router it is solved for several hours.
