Model: Archer C9
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 20160517

Hi guys,

A weird one that happens for the past few days now.

I have my Archer C9 from 2016-2017. All good up until now.

My router resets itself if I do the following:

1. I do a speed test using the Ookla app on my iPhone 13P.

2. I play something in 4K on my SONY Bravia (Disney+ or HBOMax)

At the moment, I'm connected to the internet via cable to the router. All works well. If I do any of the above, the last 3 blue leds go crazy for a few seconds and the router will reboot itself.

Also, I have a 1GB internet connection from my provider.

On the PC I can do the test, compared to the iOS test which kills the router altogether, however, it doesn't do more than 304Mbps (down) / 175Mbps (up)

Any advice is more than welcome. I love this router and it served its purpose up until now. I wonder what/how doing the above can do this and how can I fix it.

Thanks

  @Dooku

Hello, since it was working fine before, is there any new client devices added into the network recently? Or any other changes in the home network?

And did you try to reset the router to factory defaults by holding reset button/hole for about 10s?

By the way, the iPhone and SONY Bravia are both connected via WiFi, right? are the 2.4GHz and 5GHz WiFi both having this issue?

Please try to change the WiFi channel and channel width to see if it makes any differences.
