Can I import settings from Archer C7 into the new AX72 via backup and restore?

Is it recommended?

That's not possible - these two routers have different menu, hardware and features.

Sometimes even with the same router models this can't be done due to a new features or modifications have been introduced in the new firmware releases.

Best approach will be to take some notes on the C7 configuration and then propagate these settings in AX72 accordingly.
