Hello, how about the LED status on the TL-WA850RE extender?
If RE light and signal strength light are off, it means the extender is not connected to the host network yet, please check whether Wireless password of your router you entered is correct or not. You could go to Settings--WiFi on your phone to forget the router Wi-Fi, then reconnect it using the same Wi-Fi password to see if it works.
Then please reset the extender into default settings by holding the reset button until all lights flashing once, and refer to this instruction to configure your range extender again carefully:
