Good day, I am considering buying either TP LINK VIGI C230I or VIGI C220I. I would like to know if I can use the VIGI Camera without the need for a network video recorder (NVR) or digital video recorder (DVR)? Can I simply connect the ethernet cable and use the app to remotely monitor the camera? If this is possible, can I use the SD Card Memory to store the video and playback

 

I hope the VIGI camera does not require an NVR or DVR and can be easily monitored by connecting it directly to the ethernet and using the VIGI app. I appreciate any response that can clarify this for me. Thank you.

Thanks for posting in our business forum.

If the specs for your model do not list with micro-SD card compatibility, then it does not support it. Your recordings wouldn't store on the camera itself.

If your model supports a micro-SD card, then you can use it for storage of your recordings.

You can view the live stream from the app if you want. VIGI camera supports the VIGI app.
