Deco Guest Network
Hi all,
I'm having the following problem and the tp-link support has been unable to tell me how to fix it.
I had 6 X20's.
5 were wired up with ethernet connections. 1 was connected to the 'Main' via wifi.
As the Deco X20 model only has 2 ethernet ports, the Main had 1 port connected to the router. The other was connected to a small unmanaged type switch. The two cat6 cables from the switch went to 2 X20's and the next 2 X20'2 were further connected to the first 2 X20's.
For example X20 Main to Switch.
Switch port 1 to an X20, say the Kitchen. And the next X20, say living room was connected to the Kitchen X20 via cat6.
Switch port 2 to an X20, say bedroom 1 and the 2nd X20 call it bedroom2 was connected to bedroom1 via cat6.
The VLAN thing came up on the guest network. I left it at 591 and everything worked great!!
So I extended my deco mesh. I bought 2 X50's.
I replaced the X20 main with an X50. The X50 has 3 ethernet ports!! Woohoo, I dont need the switch anymore. I plugged all connections in to the X50. Ran updates to firmwares. Rebooted the whole network. Everything seems to work great...
Except the Guest network doesnt work on the two last deco units. What I have called Bedroom2 and the Living Room in my earlier description. You can see the guest network. You can click on it. But it never connects to it. This is only around those last 2 units!!
Tp link support said remove the VLAN.
How?? There's no delete or remove option. I tried deleting the '591' in the field, but it says it must have a number between 3 and 1024.
I have no idea what to do next. I just need this to work. So if anyone has any idea, whether its the VLAN or someother way or procedure, please let me know.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
Eric.
