Firmware Version: 1.1.0 Build 20230725 Rel. 55602(5553)

Hi! is there anyone here using a TPlink AX23 AX1800 WIFI6 router? just wanted to check if what I'm experiencing is a hardware limitation or not.

I have my AX23 connected to a 700Mbps line from my ISP but when I try to do some speed test on my laptop connected to AX23 via WIFI6 I can only get 300-450Mbps. I have tried the following after searching through possible solutions:

- Turned off smart connect - kept 5ghz open

- Manually set 700Mbps on QoS

- Used default and several other DNS

- made sure the channel used is free

- Restored to factory settings

I have also tried several scenarios and only when I'm connected via AX23 - WIFI has a degraded output. AX23 and ISP router are just beside each other and did the tests in the same room.

- laptop connected to ISP router wired - 650-700Mbps

- laptop connected to ISP router WIFI(5GHz) - 600-670Mbps

- laptop connected to AX23 wired - 650-700Mbps

- laptop connected to AX23 WIFI(5GHz) - 300-450Mbps

Hope someone can shed some light in my problem, or finally tell me that this is a hardware limitation. Thanks!

Hello, may I know the model no. of the wireless network adapter in your laptop?

Please check the wireless link speed between the AX23 router and the laptop:

How to check the associated/link speed on a wireless client

In addition, please disable QoS and make sure only one device is connected when running the speed test.

@PoweredByVeg

@BenTee

Unfortunately we are not able to resolve this, they gave my a firmware so they can further assess and access my router to see some parameters. The discussion mainly went around the signal strength and channel quality in my area. Honestly I was expecting this to be resolved by a firmware update or something.

I ended up moving to another brand (ASUS) and never had the issue anymore (router sitting on the same location with my AX23, and using the same 5Ghz channel).

I'm still interested though if anyone finally finds a solution to this problem.
